MAXIM ZHESTKOV

MAXIM ZHESTKOV is a media artist and director based in London. He creates extraordinary digital landscapes that play with the perception of reality.

"VOLUMES"

Over the years, Zhestkov has carved out a distinct visual aesthetic of his own. His vision and talent have led him to collaborate with brands like Adidas, Google, Adobe, and Samsung to name a few.

"TRANSFORMATIONS"

Zhestkov started his creative career by studying architecture at his home city Ulyanovsk. Later he realized that he does not want to be confined by real world limitations that are quintessential for working as an architect. Though he admired architecture he decided to shift his focus towards a field in which he could construct his own systems of perception. Zhestkov was simultaneously taking art lessons at this time, and would change his major to graphic design. Over time, he would begin integrating his gathered experience into his practice, creating extraordinary experimental art films.

"LAYERS"

“My ultimate goal is to create a universal visual language that combines design, architecture, and computer graphics.” - Maxim Zhestkov

"SCULPTURES"

He describes the process of creation as a dialogue between his curiosity and computer simulations. Zhestkov uses Houdin as the main software tool, together with Redshift render and Adobe After Effects. The time needed for each film changes from project to project, but usually, it takes about 3 to 4 months to produce one single art film.
