CASBIA teamed up with CHAMPION, the legendary sportswear brand, and reimagined one of sneaker culture’s most venerable silhouettes: the retro court shoe. To capture this collection, Casbia worked with renowned Los Angeles based photographer Danny Scott Lane. Lane shot with 35mm to capture the throwback DNA of shoes like the AWOL ATLANTA: “For me, shooting on lm just makes it all tangible. Hearing the lm advance, feeling the shutter, seeing the texture – for these, it was a match made in heaven.” His images emphasize the rich materiality of each Casbia x Champion sneaker. Through Lane’s lens, Italian leather dances with vintage lm grain to tell both of the duo’s stories in one: one of Champion’s retro roots, the other of Casbia’s devotion to craft.
